Books, Saints, and Imagination in Roseburg, Oregon

By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ April 14, 2015

Books, espresso and conversation— what better way to spend a Thursday afternoon-evening in Roseburg, Oregon? April 24 4:00-6:00.

I will be joining the publisher/ author Jason Wilcox to meet writers and readers, discuss our books and the craft of writing, and to sign books and enjoy the latest latte at  While Away Books and Espresso in Roseburg, Oregon.

As “ Novelist of British History” specializing in the Christian history of England, I will be featuring my Monastery Murders series— contemporary mysteries with the clues hidden deep in the past which my modern American heroine and English priest hero must work through to find the solution.

Most recent release is A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary in which murder stalks Oxford’s hallowed shrines. Translating an ancient document in an Oxford convent should be a harmless venture, but Felicity just can’t seem to avoid danger. It’s hardly Felicity’s fault, though, that severed body parts start showing up in ancient holy reliquaries. Or that Felicity and one of the nuns is assaulted. Then Antony arrives in Oxford with a group of students. The exultation of All Saints’ Day plunges to the anguish of grief on All Souls’ when Felicity encounters yet another body.

Saint Frideswide, The Oxford martyrs, John and Charles Wesley’s Holy Club, and the Oxford Movement are all brought to life through the eyes of Father Antony’s theology students.

I will also have on hand my best-known work, Glastonbury, The Novel of Christian England. This Arthurian epic covers 15 centuries of English Christian history through a quest for the Holy Grail.

Jason will be featuring his Dead Time imaginative literature series as well as his The Ninja Who Couldn’t Ninja children’s book. Also a professional counselor, Jason offers a nonfiction book: Time to Succeed: Action Goals for Weight Loss.

Jason and I look forward to a great afternoon meeting friends and talking about books.
