Jane Austen 2015 Calendar, Longbourn to Pemberley

By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ November 19, 2014

It's so much more than a calendar! The hot-off-the-press 2015 Jane Austen Calendar by JT Originals is a guided tour of the locations of the wonderful 1995 BBC/A&E mini-series of Pride and Prejudice.

Through the months you'll visit interiors in the charming village of Lacock which doubled for Meryton in the film, stroll through gardens at Luckington Court (Longbourn), Belton House (Rosings), and Lyme Park (Pemberley). As well as seeing interior details such as the desk where Darcy wrote "the letter", the fireplace where Darcy stood in the proposal scene and looking out the window where Elizabeth stood.

The calendar also offers a library catalogue of Austenesque books with full color photos and quotations from the books.

Including my own Jane Austen Encounter.

The end of April quotation gives readers a clue to the central plot of the mystery Elizabeth and Richard are struggling with: "Original manuscript pages of The Watsons, pages in Jane Austen's own handwriting worth maybe a million pounds, had gone missing."

I am particularly enchanted with the fact that the calendar offers four ways of marking time by noting American, Canadian and UK holidays as well as the Church Year calendar which the Austen family would have followed.

That makes another of the quotations from A Jane Austen Encounter particularly appropriate:

"Incline us, O God! To think humbly of ourselves,                                                                                       to be severe only in th examination of our own conduct,                                                                        to consider our fellow-creatures with kindness,                                                                                     and to judge all they say and do with that charity which                                                                         we would desire from them ourselves."                                                                                                                                                  From a prayer by Jane Austen.

Calendars are $10.00 apiece and can be ordered here. They make wonderful Christmas presents for all the Janeites and Anglophiles on your list.
