Mystery Night in Calgary
By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ November 23, 2011
I have blogged before about the vibrant mystery writing and reading scene in Calgary: recounts my delight in meeting Louise Penny and Peter Robinson at last year's Calgary Bookfest and http://www.donnafletchercrow.com/articles.php?id=41 reports on my two book signings at The Owl's Nest bookstore on the launch of A VERY PRIVATE GRAVE .
Tonight I was back again at The Owl's Nest with my Calgary crimje-writer friends Linda Kupecek and Jayne Barnhard.
This event was a triple reading and book signing by 3 Calgary crime writers: Susan Calder with DEADLY FALL,

Stephen Legault with THE END OF THE LINE
and Linda Kupecek with DEADLY DUES and a specail treat--a sneak preview of her up-coming TRASHING THE TRAILER.
Store owner Michael was a genial host for the well-attended event.

Among the guests I enjoyed visiting with were Ann, a YA fantasy writer and Garry Ryan, President of Crime Writers of Canada.
And then I returned home to the grandmothering duties that brought me to Calgary for this trip.

Dear Ms. Crow: I'm writing a book about railway construction set at the same time as Stephen Legault's END OF THE LINE. At my website (www.paulyee.ca) , I'm blogging on a variety of railway-related topics, so I'd like to ask your permission to use your photo of Stephen Legault reading on your page "Mystery Night in Calgary" November 2011. I would give full credit to you for the photo. Thanks for capturing that moment in a photo.
