Asteroid Apocalypse Shuffle: A Monty Python Fluxx Odyssey by ChatGPT

By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ September 29, 2023

Our eldest son, his wife, and their far-flung four adult children gathered in a hotel in Switzerland for Christmas. After doing the Christmas markets they settled in for a rousing family game. In the middle of the festivities one of their sons sent a request: "Hey, Chat GPT, can you write a story about a family playing Monty Python Fluxx?"

The results appeared instantly on his screen:

It was a dark and stormy night, and the fate of the world hung in the balance. An asteroid was hurtling towards Earth, and unless something was done, it would collide with the plant and wipe out all life.

As the world’s top scientists and engineers frantically tried to come up with a solution, a small group of friends gathered in a cozy living room, huddled around a table with a deck of cards. They were playing Monty Python Fluxx, a fast-paced and hilarious card game based on the antics of the legendary comedy troupe.

As they played, the friends laughed and joked, completely unaware of the danger that threatened to destroy them. But as they drew their cards and played their hands, something strange began to happen.

The cards seemed to take on a life of their own, forming patterns and combinations that seemed to have a deeper meaning. And as the friends played on, they began to realize that the game was more than just a silly pastime—it was a powerful tool that could help save the world.

Inspired by the clever and absurd humor of Monty Python, the friends used the game to come up with a plan to deflect the asteroid and steer it safely past Earth. And as the final card was played, the asteroid zoomed past, harmlessly missing the planet.

The world rejoiced as the danger passed, and the friends were hailed as heroes for their quick thinking and creativity. And from that day on, the Monty Python Fluxx card game became known as the ultimate tool for saving the human race.
