New Video Jane Austen from Paradise to Lyme Regis

By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ June 3, 2021

The writing life can be a crazy ride, especially because one never knows what’s next. That’s certainly true for my latest venture of making videos in the persona of Jane Austen. In a previous blog I explained how I fell into this adventure. Now I’ve carried it one step further.

“Jane Austen from Paradise to Lyme Regis” is currently premiering on You Tube. Here Jane, in response to information from her friend Donna Fletcher Crow about the continued restrictions on travel we are experiencing due to the Coronavirus, tells viewers about her favorite holiday site—Lyme (as it was simply called in her day).

“Jane” shows pictures of Lyme then and now and shares from letters about her family holiday including her favorite activities swimming and dancing at an assembly.

She also reads from her novel Persuasion whilst showing scenes on the Cobb, including Louisa Musgrove’s near-disastrous fall.

Do take a look and enjoy! My six-year-old granddaughter in Canada has promised me a thumbs-up, I hope you will join her.

PS If you missed the first video "Jane Austen from Paradise to Portsmouth" you can find it here.
