Donna Fletcher Crow, Novelist of British History
A traveling researcher engages people and places from Britain's past and present, drawing comparisons and contrasts between past and present for today's reader.

Well, even NASA has delays to their launches, so I shouldn’t have been surprised that mine was delayed. And the thing is—once it happens, it’s all the sweeter for the previous days of frustration. (There must be a life lesson in there somewhere.)
Anyway, I finally have the delight of announcing that Felicity and Antony’s Canadian adventure Against All Fierce Hostility, the Monastery Murders #6, is available in ebook and paperback on all Amazon sites.
The Monastery Murders moves to Canada when Antony is invited to lecture on the British saints who inspired the founding of Toronto and Felicity couriers an ancient manuscript connected with Saint Patrick to monasteries in Montreal and Vancouver. A spectacular train journey across the breadth of the continent carries them even further away from the murder Felicity witnessed in England. Or does it?
“It’s an all-frills-and-chills-included journey”— Janelle Watkins, The Scene in TO.
Photos from my research trip are available on my website, do take a look—I give thanks every day that we were able to do this before lockdown!
I am also thrilled that the early reviews have been stellar. Let me share 2 of them with you:
From the UK:
Donna Fletcher Crow’s Monastery Murders series is surely unique. They’re a great mix of history, romance and mystery with really engaging characters. The relationship between Antony and Felicity is terrific – very warm and totally believable. Against All Fierce Hostility is a very worthy addition to the series where Felicity and Antony have to take a precious manuscript and an awkward teenager from one side of Canada to the other. The train journey is excellent! It’s so well described you really feel as if you’re there. Mind you, the description of the food on the train is so lush, you do wonder why Felicity and Antony don’t weigh 19 stone or thereabouts! Recommended.
And from the US:
A long time coming and highly anticipated, Ms. Crow does not disappoint. The Monastery Murders is my favorite all time suspense series. A plot that keeps you guessing, yet teaches you some fabulous church history in an entertaining fashion. The only downside to this book is that it ends. Hopefully, Felicity will have more adventures to come.
And just in case you’ve missed out on any of the earlier titles, here’s the series page for the whole set.
