Christmas Decorations, Books and Joy
By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ November 28, 2018
Ah, the garden is having its winter’s rest and all the activity is cozily indoors these crispy days. No, I don’t have my Christmas decorations up yet, so I’ll share a few of my favorite pictures from last year to help get me in the spirit.
Many years ago, probably back in the 80s, I happened across Marjorie Holmes’ novel Two from Galilee and read it by the light of our Christmas tree. Since then, the tradition of reading a Christmas novel in December has been a part of my holiday celebrations. Anne Perry’s Victorian Christmas novels and Liz Curtis Higgs A Wreath of Snow have been among my favorites. So it gives me great pleasure to be able to offer my Christmas novels to my readers, with hopes that they may increase your joy of this blessed season.

An All-Consuming Fire, book 5 in my Monastery Murders (.99 all December) finds Felicity and Antony happily planning a Christmas wedding in the monastery. It’s all idyllic until Felicity’s pushy mother arrives and tries to turn the whole event into a royal wedding. And Antony is drafted to narrate a television documentary on the English mystics. And then Felicity takes on the challenge of directing a Christmas pageant for Kirkthorpe’s troubled youth.
At least most of the vexing disruptions occurring on the filming locations are miles away from the Community of the Transfiguration. Until the threats move closer. Close enough to threaten Felicity's life.
Will the murderer stalking the Yorkshire Moors shatter the joy of Felicity and Antony's Christmas wedding?

I am also participating in the Cozy Winter Reads group promotion. This is the largest group I’ve ever been in—63 novels to choose from. You’re welcome to download them all—absolutely FREE. But do take note of the ratings, some are adult, so be sure you get stories that will be to your taste.
My contribution is listed as a sample of my boxed set Where There is Love: Six novels of the enduring legacy of love and faith, stories of real people and stirring historic events in England through the 18th and 19th centuries.

Although it’s listed as a sample, you get the complete novel Where Love Restores. Granville Ryder’s struggle to find his place in his illustrious family, in God's work and in Georgiana's heart take the reader through seasons of late Regency life, including Christmas on a grand English country estate.
For a special bit of Christmas Joy I offer one of my favorite carols “What Child is This?” with especially lovely art in the background.
Have a blessed Christmas and I’ll see you next year,.

Dear Blue,
Thank you so much for your comment! I apologize for being so late to reply--we've been away and I don't feel like I'll ever catch up. Yes, I love Christmas, too--but now I'm looking forward to Easter!
