Hooray! New Jo Grant Mystery from Sally Wright

By Donna Fletcher Crow ~ April 6, 2016

FINALLY, Behind The Bonehouse, the second Jo Grant horse country mystery, is ready for preorder on Amazon, and will be available on April 10th as an ebook, and shortly thereafter in paperback.

Wright says, “This is a book that means a lot to me. It connects to my past and my present, and maybe predicts my future. It clearly deals with the grace of God and the plans he has for all of us.”

It wasn’t until thirty years after the attacks, and the lies, and the intricately orchestrated death, that Jo Grant Munro could bring herself to describe it all in Behind The Bonehouse. Her work as an architect, and the broodmare farm she ran with her uncle, and her husband Alan’s entire future - all hung by a thread in 1964 in the complex Thoroughbred culture of bluegrass Kentucky, where rumor and gossip and the nightly news can destroy a person overnight, just like anywhere else. It was hatred in a self-obsessed soul, fermenting in an equine lab, boiling over and burning what it touched, that drove Jo and Alan to the edge of desperation while they fought through what they faced.

“With elegant prose and graceful storytelling, Sally Wright delivers another compelling novel set in the beautiful horse country of Kentucky. Although there’s plenty of mystery afoot, family is at the heart of this tale. Wright does a fine job balancing the competing forces of love and resentment that seem to define all families. Readers of her previous work will savor another visit with old friends and delight in following the threads of the past that, for better or for worse, intricately weave together the lives of her characters and the land they call home.” William Kent Krueger

“For fans who loved Sally Wright’s BREEDING GROUND and the Munros, BEHIND THE BONEHOUSE is an exciting new mystery you won’t want to miss. For those who don’t know her work, Wright gives us a story of Kentucky horse country that’s articulate and frighteningly possible, a setting that is pitch perfect, and characters who step right off the page. BEHIND THE BONEHOUSE is a bittersweet look at people you care about and want to win, a novel you won’t soon forget.” Charles Todd

BEHIND THE BONEHOUSE is now available for preorder on Amazon. It will be available as an ebook April 10th and in paperback shortly thereafter.
