Welcome, Wendy Jones, all the way from Dundee, Scotland, on the occasion of the release of your new book Killer's Craft!
May I start by saying thank you, Donna, for hosting me on the blog today. It is a pleasure to be here, especially since my second book, Killer’s Craft, has just been released. This is the second book in the Detective Inspector Shona McKenzie Mysteries. Although it is a stand-alone novel there is further character development and some minor plot points are picked up from the first book. This is not something which would ruin the story for anyone who has not read book one.
From reading the first novel readers have said that Shona is feisty, sharp and yet funny and caring. This was how I wanted to portray her so I am glad that this has come across so well in the book. Killer’s Craft takes this characterisation one step further. Shona has grown into her role and is more confident. She is always just on the right side of keeping to the letter of the law, whilst driving her Chief Inspector to a possible early grave. Her total disregard for authority leads to some comedic moments. Do not be fooled into thinking the book is not a gritty crime novel, it is. This can be seen from the cover blurb :
A blizzard of murders in snowbound Dundee!
Dead bodies proliferate. Nuns, prostitutes, and a henpecked husband! Is anyone safe?
DI Shona McKenzie investigates multiple murders, unsure how many killers she is seeking.
Will she succeed before the death toll mounts?
As you can see the weather is hampering the investigation, making it difficult for the police to investigate, whilst at the same time hiding the killer’s tracks.
I am excited about the novel and the launch. This will be held in Waterstones bookshop, Dundee, Scotland. However, it is also available at all online retailers including Amazon, Nook, Kobo, Sony and Barnes and Noble.
Killer’s Countdown, my first novel, was well received internationally and has proven to be particularly popular in the United States. It has been in the top one hundred in several amazon lists both in the UK and USA. I am sure readers will also enjoy Killer’s Craft.
Thank you once again Donna. If your readers would like to find out more about the books then these can be found in the links below. The Amazon link is a universal link, which will take your readers to their country of residence.
