Meet Idaho Author Sherry Briscoe

Well, life is busy, but I'd been a member of the Idaho Writers' Guild (http://idahowritersguild.com/) for a whole year and hadn't been to a meeting yet. Every month I would recieve notice of the time and place— always a luncheon at a local restaurant— and I would put it on my calendar. And then not get there.

Finally it was time to renew my membership for another year. In other words, fish or cut bait. I decided to fish and was delighted with the professional approach to writing, the excellent speakers and the delightful people I met. So I renewed and went back the next month.

And there, one of the writers I was especially pleased to meet up with was Sherry Briscoe, so I invited Sherry to visit us on "Deeds of Darkness; Deeds of Light". Welcome, Sherry.

Sherry: Donna, it was a great pleasure of mine to meet you at the Idaho Writers Guild luncheon; I do hope to see you there more often! And I must say that I am so honored to be invited to post on your blog – thank you!

Donna: You're very welcome, Sherry. And you'll definitely be seeing me at more IWG luncheons. Now, tell us about your book the Mists of Garibaldi.

Sherry: I lived in Garibaldi, Oregon, in the early 80’s, where I worked for the small weekly newspaper, the Headlight Herald. In the 90’s, I moved back home to Idaho and worked for The Times-News in Twin Falls. So it’s no surpise that these stories developed the way they did. In the nine short stories that are the Mists of Garibaldi, the reader will see how lives and stories in a small community are connected, and overlap. They will also learn that nothing is what it seems in the small coastal town of Garibaldi.

Donna: Aha! You've got my interest. I love suspense. But I understand Mists of Garibaldi also

contains elements of the paranormal.

Sherry: That's true. From dragons to ghosts, curses to murder, these nine stories will trap the reader in their web, and haunt them from the first word to the last.

Donna: Okay, we've been warned. It sounds like a truly great read, Sherry. I've spent considerable time on the Oregon coast and I know what an atmospheric place it can be. Especially after dark with the mist rolling in from the ocean. . .

What fun, getting to guest blog on your website, Donna, is like being on the TONIGHT SHOW!
I joined the Army because, at the time, they were having guarantees of station, and I wanted to go to Europe. So I signed the papers and off I went. It was like stepping into a fairy tale book of castles and kings!
